Today, I want to show you something new I’ve been using lately to spruce up my Bullet Journal. This is a review of the Poooliprint Thermal Pocket Printer!
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen a few pictures of me trying out the Poooliprint Thermal Pocket Printer to decorate my Bullet Journal. I’ve had my Poooliprint TP Printer for a few weeks, and now that I’ve had time to play with it and experiment, I thought I would share with you what I think of it.

Poooliprint kindly sent over one of their printers, as well as my choice of paper rolls, to review for you.
To be fully honest with you, I had no idea such tiny little printers existed. I WAS aware there exists small polaroid-type pictures printer, and I always figured I would get one eventually, because, well, neeeeed. But now I don’t think I ever will!

Without further ado, on to my review of the Poooliprint Thermal Pocket Printer!
Unboxing & getting started
So, a thermal printer uses heat to print out images or text on thermal paper. This means that it can’t print in colors. Luckily, Poooliprint sells all sorts of quality thermal papers, such as colored paper, sticky colored paper, colored edges paper, sticky semi-transparent and a bunch more.
With Bullet Journaling in mind, I ordered rolls of sticky colored paper, sticky semi-transparent and white sticky paper with my printer.
The printer itself arrives in a little box and inside the box is the printer, a quick “Getting Started” guide and a cable for charging. I chose the Poooliprinter™L2 Instant HD because it had a higher resolution (300 dpi) than the Poooliprinter™L1 (200 dpi).
I was happily surprised when I realised 1- my Poooliprinter was already charged and 2- it came with a free white paper roll inside. I opened the app on my phone (which I had previously downloaded), linked my printer to my phone via Bluetooth, and voilà!
The Poooli app
Once the app is connected to your phone, you’re ready to print away!
From the app, you can print images or text documents that are on your phone. You can also use and edit the included “Post-it notes” frame, To-Do lists (as seen in the picture below), stickers, thought bubbles, etc. You can even use the app to doodle on your phone or tablet and print it out!
Once you’ve decided what image or picture you want to print out, you can edit it further in the Poooli app. You can shrink or enlarge it, use different types of filters, play with the luminosity and contrast and flip it around.
Truly, the app is super easy to use and there are cute little doodles ready to use inside. And if that’s not really your style (it’s not really mine), there are simple, minimalist frames and lists that you can use as well!
My final thoughts on the Poooliprint Thermal Pocket Printer
★ Using it in my Bullet Journal ★
Honestly, I don’t know what I would do without my Poooliprinter now. I have so many spread ideas for my Bullet Journal using my pocket printer! I didn’t use to stick picture or images in my Bullet Journal, because I didn’t like using glue sticks.
★ Truly a time-saver ★
What I like most about the Poooliprint Thermal Pocket Printer is how it lets me do so much more than I dared to do before in my Bullet Journal. AND it saves me a lot of time to do it. For the first time, I can create spreads that I didn’t dare do before, as I was afraid to use glue in my journal.
Also, I’m not an artist, I’m not that good at drawing cute doodles to decorate my Bullet Journal. But now I can find images I like on the web, save them to my phone and print them out! So easy!
★ The picture quality ★
I really didn’t know what to expect when I tried to print out pictures I took with my phone, and I was pleasantly surprised! The pictures turned out adorable and they seem perfect for a memory-type spread in your Bullet Journal. I have to say though, the standard white paper (non-sticky) is recommended for printing out pictures. Picture don’t turn out as good on the colored paper.
★ So many choices of paper rolls ★
I’m especially happy with my choice of semi-transparent paper rolls! I created some nice titles for my Bullet Journal. Then, I printed them out and stuck them in faster that you can say Poooliprint Thermal Pocket Printer!
I must warn you; the sticky rolls of paper are fairly thick and they don’t rip out well. I recommend using scissors for these types of paper rolls.
Stay tuned, I will be publishing another post on this printer and how I’ve used it in my Bullet Journal.
